Metabolomics Data Scientist
Join us and advance microbiome research through analytical chemistry
We are looking for another dedicated Metabolomics Data Scientist to join our data team in Vedbaek, Denmark. You will collaborate with a group of leading experts in the intersection of analytical chemistry and microbiome science, contributing to pioneering research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transform instrument outputs (LC-MS/MS or GC-MS) into high-quality peak tables.
- Driving client projects through data processing to delivery.
- Contribute to method development, validation, and continuous improvement of data processing workflows.
- Maintain and trouble-shoot data pipelines for reliability and scalability.
- Engage with cross-functional teams and explain analytical concepts to both specialists and non-specialists.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, bioinformatics or a related field (PhD preferred, or minimum 3 years relevant work experience).
- Previous experience in data processing of MS data.
- Programming experience in one or more of the following: R, Matlab, Python.
- Full professional proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Preferred Experience (having some of these will be considered an advantage):
- Strong understanding of analytical chemistry principles and their application in biological or microbiome research.
- Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry (preferably LC-HRMS/MS) and small molecule analysis.
- Experience from setting up, working with, and maintaining databases (Experience with SQL, XML, MassBank, HMDB, GNPS, or LipidBlast).
- Working in a GxP environment.
- Supplying high-quality analytical services as part of a core laboratory team.
- Experience integrating metabolomics with other omics (proteomics, metagenomics, or genomics).
